Individualized Learning Plan
Make a real change! Work with your consultant to design a learning plan that truly meet the
interests, needs and goals of your child.
It's the 21st century! Free your child to explore the whole world of learning!
Every child's learning should have ample opportunities for exploration and creativity. This is
difficult to achieve when you're depending on inflexible, pre-packaged curriculums. Your consultant
will assist you with the development of an Individualized Learning Plan (ILP) that best meets the
needs, interests, and goals of your child.
Your child's ILP is designed to nurture his growth as an independent thinker and doer who will
develop the skills needed to successfully direct his life and become a leader in his community.
The ILP may include:
- Daily use of a curriculum for core studies such as English, mathematics, history and science
- Interest-based custom designed studies and projects
- Arts, dance, music, technical arts or other elective studies
- Organized sports
- Volunteer and internship experiences
- Work and entrepreneurial business activities
- Other out-of-the-box real-life experiences
To support and guide your program, your personal consultant will schedule regular Skype
videoconferences and home visits* throughout the year. [*In Maryland]
Quarterly reviews and regular conferences with your consultant provide the following
opportunities:
- Face-to-face guidance and support with you and your child
- Valuable feedback to help maintain progress and excitement
- Development of self-confidence through collaboration with your personal consultant
- Guidance to choose appropriate and effective resources needed to support the ILP
- Allows learners to demonstrate and share knowledge gained and articulate progress
- Collaboration to develop solutions and strategies for overcoming challenges
- Allows learners to illustrate and share how their studies are aligned with their short and long-term goals
- Make timely changes or improvements to the ILP
- Keep learning fresh and exciting and maintain successful momentum toward achieving goals
The learner also is introduced to empowerment learning elements including reflective learning,
objective self-evaluation, and critical thinking tools. These are among the essential skills
needed for success in a rapidly changing world, where good is just not good enough.
You are not alone! We are a worldwide community of learners and we are dedicated to providing
guidance and support from Kindergarten to college. Our graduates have been admitted to Ivy League
colleges, technical and arts schools, state universities, every military academy, and universities
outside the U.S.
