Maryland Standard Program Goals and Schedule
TLCI's Standard Program is designed for families experienced with home and community-based learning or are ready to take on the responsibility of developing and maintaining their own unique educational program for their children, complete with instructional, personal, and interest goals.
The main goals of the Standard Program are to:
PROGRAM OUTLINE
First Year: Two in-person conferences; up to three conference calls; email contact and access by the family to their consultant if they have questions or need support.
Home Visit 1 (September) PLANNING AND JUMP-STARTING THE PROGRAM.
Consultant meets with learner/family to assess learner needs and interests. With input, designs the Individualized Learning Plan (ILP) to include resources and enrichment ideas. Offers guidance and support to family for a successful start to the homeschooling adventure.
Fall Phone Conference Review/modify the Individualized Learning Plan. Support; guidance.
Winter Phone Conference Review ILP, provide support as requested.
Spring Contact Check in; schedule final home visit.
Home Visit 2 (May/June) Final Meeting
Consultant and learner/family review the year and complete the annual review form. Consultant offers encouragement and support, gives children an opportunity to share their homeschooling activities and studies, and helps parent develop the fall’s Individualized Learning Plan.
